Car care guides
Plan the settling period, cleaning and follow-up questions after a 3M tint appointment.
Before leaving the shop, confirm the exact film installed, the windows treated and the care instructions that apply. Keep your invoice and product information together. Ask when you can operate the windows, when cleaning is appropriate and how to contact us about concerns. Planning that conversation before collection is easier than guessing afterward.
3M’s automotive window-film care card says to avoid opening or closing treated windows and cleaning them for at least 48 hours after installation. Follow the instructions supplied for your actual film and appointment if they require more time. Tell other drivers of the vehicle about the waiting period so the windows are handled consistently.
The 3M care card recommends soft, non-abrasive cloths or towels, clean water and non-abrasive pH-neutral glass cleaners. Keep grit out of the cleaning process. Ask the shop about a product before trying it if its suitability is unclear, particularly when the tint has only recently been installed.
If you notice an edge concern or something about the appearance that worries you, photograph the window and contact Finesse. Include when the film was installed and whether the area changes in different light. Let us review the concern before attempting to lift, trim or adjust the film yourself.
Ask Finesse about your tintWhen arranging later cleaning, glass work or a new tint quote, tell the technician that the windows have film. Keep the product name and installation record available. Those details help a future service provider understand the surface and avoid assumptions about what is on the glass.
